Foster Cass; Former Duxbury High Soccer Coach
NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR Foster Cass was the varsity soccer coach at Duxbury HS for 32 years. He became the first coach in New England history to compile 500 wins and sports a career record of 575-58-45. Between 1981 and '85, his teams won a national record 72 straight games. He led Duxbury to 15 undefeated seasons, 10 state, 24 league, and 14 Eastern Mass titles. He was named 1983 New England Coach of the Year and Eastern Mass. Coach of the Year 7 times. He was the first president of the Eastern Massachusetts Coaches Assoc. and was inducted into the Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame in 1989.
I used to play for Foster Cass during my high school days (1974-1978). As a freshman, I started as a goalie but I didn't last long. I was just an average soccer player who wants to play. It was an honor to play for a great soccer coach.
