Humility is required at the time of salvation.....

therefore its not really a gift. Grace is the TRUE GIFT. Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor. What causes a person not to be saved? It is pride to refuse to acknowledge the conviction of the Holy Spirit to repent and turn to Jesus for salvation. God will not dwell in our prideful thoughts of ourselves. Philippians 2:4-8
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
