The World
For God love the "people" that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
The world (not people) represents temptations and covet. The world of life puts on a big show for other people that a person to impress people.
1 Peter 2:11
Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
2 Peter 1:4
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
