I am happlily married with 5 kids. I am an accoutant and worked in an accounting field for over 25 years. I like to make a habit of writing down whenever I have deep thoughts about God (so I won't forget). I really into Reformed Theology that is connected to Presbyterian Church in America.

Ruling Elders

The Elders will listen to the Church members' concerns and consider them during their frequent elders meetings. The main job for the elders is the "stewardship" of the local church. Everything belongs to God, the elders are to live in faithful stewardship of all that God has entrusted to them. Elders are not there to please the members but rather please God. God is their boss, not the members. In regarding to elders "considering" members' requests, they must consider whether the recommendations would benefit the church or not. They would have to consider the manpower, the costs and many other factors before they make their decisions. Elders are our spiritual stewardship who are looking for members spiritual needs and to look at their lives spiritually in from God's perspective. For example: If there is growing number of deaf people in the church, then the elders would consider to start a program for the deaf.
