Doctrine of Forgiveness

God commanded us to forgive, so its our choice spiritually We are to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Jesus Christ has forgiven us. If we forgive those who sin against us, our heavenly Father will forgive us. But if we refuse to forgive others, our Father will not forgive our sins. We are to forgive seventy times seven. We must make allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you. What joy for us whose sin is no longer counted against us by the Lord. For God in Christ, reconciled us to Himself, no longer counting our sins against us. This is the wonderful message He has given to us to tell others. Love does not demand its own way. Love keeps no record of when it has been wronged. References: Ephesians 4:23, Matthew 6:14-15, Matthew 18:21-35, Colossians 3:13, Romans 4:8, 2 Corinthians 5:19 and 1 Corinthians 13:5. For 30 plus years, I have discovered through many denominations and movements, there is lack of forgiveness and lack of love. Satan have successfully sowed seeds of discords between believers so that there won't be any spiritual and relationship restoration for unity. From the Word of God.... we are carefully joined together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. How wonderful it is, how pleasant, when we live together in harmony. Do not pretend that we love others. We are to really love others. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Live in Harmony with each other. Don't try to act important, but enjoy the company of ordinary people. Don't think we know it all. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see we are honorable. Do our part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible. Paul appeal to us by the authority of Lord Jesus Christ to stop arguing among ourselves. Let there be real harmony so there won't be divisions in the Church. We are all one body, we have the same Spirit and we have all been called to the same glorious future. We will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of His body, the Church. Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. In Christ our love for each other will overflow more and more, and that we will keep on growing in your knowledge and understanding. Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are our hearts tender and sympathetic? Happiness is agreeing wholeheartly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one heart and purpose. References: Ephesians 2:21, Psalm 133:1, Romans 12:9-18, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:4, Ephesians 4:15-16, Philippians 1:9, Philippians 2:1-2 There are TWO steps involved...... 1. Forgive automatically....I have to forgive in my heart--that takes care of my heart attitude-- 2. Relationship will be restored once that sinner comes to me and told me that he repented to God and he wants to restore the relationship. I don’t want to bear a grudge. If you sin against me, I have to forgive you in my heart even as God, for Christ’s sake, has forgiven me. So, I do that willingly. But I will never be able to have a right relationship with you until you come to me and seek the forgiveness that opens up the relationship. I always forgive and always give a person an amicable, companionable, comradely, cordial, hearty, neighborly, warm, warmhearted invitation without being cold, cool, frigid; bellicose, belligerent, contentious, quarrelsome. If I am not amicable and being cold, then I am not behaving like Christ who is ALWAYS amicable and inviting. I should be open for allowing the person so repent without getting on their knees. I want heart to heart repentance with Love.
