I am happlily married with 5 kids. I am an accoutant and worked in an accounting field for over 25 years. I like to make a habit of writing down whenever I have deep thoughts about God (so I won't forget). I really into Reformed Theology that is connected to Presbyterian Church in America.

Grace versus Claim

I noticed the scriptures frequently mentioned "receive" the promise as Hebrews 9:15 said, "For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant." Recieving and Claiming are two different meanings. Claim means to ask for especially as a right, not a privilege. Receive means to come into possession of of a gift. By Grace (gift).....Not By Merit (claim/earned). Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
