Purpose of Creation

To glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever. God's intention in the creation of man and woman was that we should glorify God, enjoy God's fellowship, live our life in the will of God, and by this accomplish God's purpose for us in the world (Is. 43:7; Col. 1:16). We exist in order to glorify Him. From Christian historical perspective, in the Westminster Shorter Catechism of the seventeenth century said that the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
