We Will Glorify by Twila Paris

This song was played at Carole and my wedding November 28, 2003 at my parents' house in Massachusetts. Its one of my favorite songs. Now my wife and some of our kids loves this song. Our new church also sang this song at their worship service. In fact, they have sang Twila's other songs. I have some of her tapes including her greatest hits. However, I have not bought any of her tapes since the early 1990's. I need to buy some. I saw Twila in concert at Grace Brethren Church of Columbus, Ohio in the late 80's or early 90's. I can't remember the date since its been so long. I do remember ONE song when I first heard it before I bought her recordings. I heard in concert before hearing it anywhere else, "We will Glorify". She sang so beautifully. We will glorify the King of kings We will glorify the Lamb We will glorify the Lord of lords Who is the great I AM Lord Jehovah reigns in majesty We will bow before His throne We will worship Him in righteousness We will worship Him alone He is Lord of heaven, Lord of earth He is Lord of all who live He is Lord above the universe All praise to Him we give Hallelujah to the King of kings Hallelujah to the Lamb Hallelujah to the Lord of Lords Who is the great I AM Her Albums Releases Discography He Is Exalted: Live Worship (2005) House of Worship (2003) Greatest Hits: Time & Again (2001) Bedtime Prayers: Lullabies & Peaceful Worship (2001) True North (1999) Perennial (1998) Where I Stand (1996) Beyond a Dream (1993) A Heart That Knows You (1992) Sanctuary (1991) Cry For the Desert (1990) It's the Thought (1989) For Every Heart (1988) Same Girl (1987) Kingdom Seekers (1986) The Best of Twila Paris (1985) The Warrior Is a Child (1984) Keepin' My Eyes On You (1982) Knowin' You're Around (1981)

Inner Being of a Christian

Why do I not act like Christ-like manner at times? I realized that Christ in me does not mean that I am no longer without sin. My old sinful nature is not ripped out from my heart. Christ is in my heart and with the help from the Holy Spirit, Christ changing me from the inside and lives through me as I live daily under His encouragements. I have learned that the truth is that while Christ dwells in me as a new nature, it is I, who should be willing to obey Christ (my new nature)rather than obeying sin (my old nature) (from my heart). Scriptures tells me that the spiritual warfare between my old nature and my new nature will go on continually for all believers. Also, from my experiences, I have learned that "learning and memorizing" of Christian doctrines are not important tools for the purpose of dealing with spiritual conflicts. Martin Lloyd-Jones, the English preacher and writer, once said: "It is perilously close to being sinful for any person to learn doctrine for doctrine's sake." Learning and knowing doctrines are important and we are to learn our Christian foundations of faith but not important when I am trying to deal with my daily conflicts as a Christian. I should be aware that my practice as a Christian is where God will meet me in the core, which is in my heart. Do I really glorify God in my heart? Is Jesus my Lord of my heart? With Christ in my heart, I will still sin by accident but not willingly (on purpose). I am reminded by the Word of God that God looks into my heart for my spiritual obedience rather than perfection. I will never be perfect as long as I live in my body. Like David's experiences, God meets me in my heart rather than my mind therefore I need to focus on the "heart of the matter". Scriptures: In Proverbs 4:23, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do." (NLT) In Proverbs 21:2, "People may think they are doing what is right, but the Lord examines the heart." (NLT) "David son of Jesse is a man after my own heart, for he will do everything I want him to do." Acts 13:22 & 1 Samuel 13:14 (NLT) Jesus said: "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind." Matthew 22:37 The Lord said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord don't make decisions the way you do. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at a person's thoughts and intentions(heart)." 1 Samuel 16:7

Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945)

A German pastor and theologian, played a central role in the Confessing Church during the Nazi period and became one of the most influential theologians of the twentieth century. He studied in Berlin and at Union Theological Seminary in New York City and wrote several books read widely in German and English. His theology and personal witness continue to challenge Christians of all denominations. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was hanged in the concentration camp at Flossenbürg on April 9, 1945, one of four members of his immediate family to die at the hands of the Nazi regime for their participation in the small Protestant resistance movement. I have one of his classic books called "The Cost of Discipleship" (Printed 1976, 17th printing). This book was first printed in 1949.
