Get involved

The point is this: FAITH in God. In our Government system regardless how we feel or think about them that we are to trust in our Sovereign God. Biblically, God never dictates governments to have citizens follow God. God dictated governments to "govern" the people and live in a civilized world. In one of my posts, I mentioned that "The Gospel is for "spiritual society" while the Governments are for "human society". Faith is something that individuals must accept or reject. People either take the leap and believe or they do not. It is not something that can be forced. So far, many of posts in this thread are motivated by political views with emotional ties. We should be follow the WORD of GOD and be guided by Holy Spirit. When I voice my political views, they are MINE based on my understanding the Bible and how I view the world. The Bible has much to say about the nature of human, the world, purpose, and etc. Christians should use their Bible and their relationship with God by adopting a biblical perspectives which are God's views in all aspects of life. The Bible calls upon the rulers to create a just society. As Christians, we are to focus on the social, economic, political and military crises which confront our lives require us to reaffirm our view of God as love, and the godly life as the way of peace. To love God is to treat people lovingly. (Leviticus 19:18, I John 3). Christ taught us to love our enemies, instructing us that war, both within and without, is sin and an expression of human failure. (Matthew 5, James 4). As Christians, we can commit ourselves to work more actively for public policies that reduce militarism, war, and political and economic inequities. We must work persistently and faithfully for a more peaceful and equitable world community. That means we if we do not like what the Government is doing, GET INVOLVED and make it change (if God is willing).

More about God-ordained Government

Civil government should recognize the sovereignty of other God-ordained institutions (Church, Family) because civil government is necessary and divinely ordained by God (Rom. 13:1–7). We are called to render service and obedience as to submit to civil authority (1 Pet. 2:13–17 ; Matt. 22:21). Even though the Government is God-ordained but human (sinners) are leading governments are also guilty of injustice however Christians should not stop working for justice or cease to be concerned about human rights. We will continue to speak up and change the system (i.e. law). Government is a legitimate position of Christian service (i.e. Joseph of the Old Testament) that we are to be concerned with social justice. We want and should see governmental legal system continue to reform for better justice system. This includes a biblical view of government the need to limit the influence of sin in society. We need different level of Government (i.e. Executive, Legislation, Supreme Court) for placing certain checks on governmental authority which protects citizens from the abuse or misuse of governmental power which results when sinful individuals are given too much governmental control. At the same time, we Christians are not to give total and final submission to the secular government because we are responsible to God spiritually when the government ask us to disobey God and that is when we can disobey the Government. Our first submission is to the Church (Heb. 12:18–24; 1 Pet. 2:9–10). Jesus taught that the government should work in harmony with the church and should recognize its sovereignty in spiritual matters (Matt. 22:21). Our second institution established by God family (Eph. 5:22–32, 1 Pet. 3:1–7). The family is ordained by God and His authority (Gen.1:26–28, 2:20–25). When the family breaks down, the government often has to step in to protect the rights of the wife (in cases of wife abuse) or children (in cases of child abuse or adoption). As Christians, we can lead human rights based on a biblical view of human dignity. When we change or improvise the law, the law should be the foundation of any government even though they are lead by humanism which means humanity is the source of law. As Christians, we must take the criminal act seriously and punish human choices. While we recognize the value of rehabilitation (especially through spiritual conversion, John 3:3), we also recognize the need for punishing wrong-doing. The Old Testament provisions for punishment and restitution make more sense in light of the biblical view of human nature.insurance, and continues to erode away the notion of human responsibility.
