Direct Path

Proverbs 16:9 In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. Proverbs 20:24 A man's steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way? Proverbs 21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases. Isaiah 63:17 Why, O LORD, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your inheritance. Jeremiah 10:23 I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. Ephesians 4:18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Romans 8:27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. 1 Thessalonians 1:5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

Spiritual Truth Is Spiritually Discerned.

Spiritual Truth Is Spiritually Discerned. "The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1 Cor. 2:14). Our faith can rest on God's power not on human wisdom and entertaining preaching. No matter how sincere they may be, preachers without discernment are sure to err. There are so much Bible knowledge and so little insight of which to discern. False teachings can sneak into the believer's life in things such as the use of certain words, phrases, positions in prayer or similar that can mislead a follower that such teachings that thrives on teachings of half-truths and error. Half-truths and faith are alike only as a mushroom and a toadstool are alike; one is good nutritious food and the other contains a dangerous poison. Can we trust the Holy Spirit to convict of sin, to reveal Christ, to open our minds to understand spiritual truth? If He doesn't do it, it doesn't get done despite all our efforts. “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24). Are we really heart hungry and thirsty for Him or is ours a mere superficial desire to be filled without obedience commitment? Is our hunger dreamy wishing that our spiritual is too weak to produce discerning action? Is our faith fanaticism on a high level? John Wesley’s quote: "a fanatic is one who seeks desired ends while ignoring the constituted means to reach those ends." Do we find ourselves hiding behind phrases and terms which sound spiritual when we are really dreaming with wishes? “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12). The Word of God is tuned to speak to our inner conscience and demonstrates with spiritual convictions. We have all have experiences when those in charge resorted to emotional manipulation. There is a difference between manipulation of our emotions and the ministry of Holy Spirit.
