Pride

Pride Prideful makes people STUPID. Pride also will lead people to hell. Lucifer fell because of his pride and became Satan. It was pride that made him fell. Desire to be equal or be like God is PRIDE. The very FIRST SIN occurred in heaven by Lucifer (Satan) was related to selfishness (wanting to be equal to God). Old Creature is Pride (Following flesh's desires) = Self-Centered New Creature is Humility (Following God's desires) = God-Centered Psalm 10:4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. Psalm 31:18 Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous. Proverbs 8:13 To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 13:10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 21:24 The proud and arrogant man-"Mocker" is his name; he behaves with overweening pride. Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor. Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Isaiah 2:11 The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled and the pride of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. Isaiah 2:17 The arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. Pride is located in our hearts which is the core, are seated deep within our minds where they pollutes our emotions (desires), the intellect (imaginations) and the will (purposes). It is important to understand that our hearts are the state of our "flesh". Our flesh search for pleasure, pride, passions and selfish motives. Our hearts are like a garden with beautiful flowers and plants. As with all gardens, the hearts must be kept free from weeds and insects. In Proverbs 4:23, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do." (NLT). Humility is to get rid of pride by submitting to the greatest cost of discipleship is to the old nature, ego, self. 1st John 2:16 says: "All that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, is not of the Father." Does pride and love go together? What does pride do when love do the opposite? Pride magnifies faults while love covers sin. Proverbs 6:16-20 16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 (1)haughty eyes, (2) a lying tongue, (3) hands that shed innocent blood, 18 (4) a heart that devises wicked schemes, (5) feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 (6) a false witness who pours out lies (7) and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs. Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 13:10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
