Compassion

Compassion within Christian Fellowship. God heals as well as He comforts His people. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Philippians 2:1 [ Imitating Christ's Humility ] If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion. Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. James 5:11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. 1 Peter 3:8 [ Suffering for Doing Good ] Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.

Great Promise !!!!

Christ is the fulfillment of all Messianic promises, and in Him we are eternally secure. We live today in confidence that Christ cannot fail. He will always accomplish His purposes in His eternal time. My present deliverance sets me free from the penalty and power of sin. Jesus is the Great Deliverer, through whom I have victory over sin, death and Hell. In Christ I have all the power I will ever need. Ephesians 1:19-20 ensures me that the strength of God is within me and is able to raise from the dead. That's healing.

Quotes

Faith is kindled and is preserved and made strong by grace alone. R.C.H. Lenski Looking forward to our eternal inheritance will help us maintain a proper perspective on temporal things and motivate us to praise and adore God. John MacArthur, Page 16, Our Great Salvation, Study Guide Don't be a crackers-and-cheese Christian, distressed by your present circumstances and failing to experience joy when it is rightfully yours. Remember your eternal inheritance and God's purpose in the trils you face. John MacArthur, Pg 53, Our Great Salvation, Study Guide

Thankful

Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:25). To be grateful to God's servants is to be grateful to God in all circumstances. Thanking God shows humility and acknowledges His rightful aurhority as the Sovereign Lord and the giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). In Philippians 4:11 says: I am not saying this because I am in need, but rather for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. Spiritual thankfulness is put into words has a spiritual healing effect upon our souls. Spiritual thanksgiving is that we could rejoice because we count God's promises and provisions greater than our trials. We have the understanding of what pleases God; our thoughts, our desires, our affections that are transformed in over time. Christianity is radical because we change from old nature to the new nature, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of God that created us. Thankful Scripture References: Because God is Good....................Psalm 107:1-3 Because God answers prayer.........Psalm 108:1-5 Because for our salvation...............Ephesians 2:4-10 Be thankful in all prayers................Philippians 4:6 Demonstrate to others your thankfulness..........Colossians 3:15-17 Be thankful in ALL circumstances.....1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 We are to spend more time remembering the eternal blessings God is continually giving us. He gives us forgivenes. He gives us eternal life. My spiritual salvation. Now, that's a great blessing and special gift. I may not be feeling well physically today but I have learned to be thankful anyhow and to rejoice in the promises of God. God's eternal blessings do not depend on how I feel today. If my eternal hope rested on how I felt physically, which is temporal, I might as well forget eternal blessings. The point is this: my feelings (i.e. cope) in no way change my eternal blessings because of great examples in Hebrews 11. I will NOT dare not relate my faith and hope to my emotions of the moment and to how I feel today or whatever the circumstances I am facing. My eternal hope depends on God's Word and His decisions because He will make good on His eternal promises at HIS time, not mine. The subject of my human emotions and circumstances, God does not play on our emotions to bring us to the point of His spiritual decisions. God uses circumstances for His glory, not ours.
