Anointed

Move on to the New Testament........we believers are now anointed. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. So, each of us have discerning spirit to test the spirits. 1 John 2:20 "you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth." 1 John 2:27 "As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him." Jesus said in the following verses: Matthew 7:15 [ A Tree and Its Fruit ] "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Matthew 24:11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Matthew 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible. Luke 6:26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets. 1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.

Faith and Works (more)

We are Justified by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ and we have union with God. Through our union with God, we are Sanctified through living in the Holy Spirit. Our works may not be acceptable in God's standards because God looks in our hearts. Therefore, God is not impressed with our outward works—our acts of worship, our spiritual works and our spiritual giving. Holiness is "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13). The key to holiness is submitting to the Spirit's control in daily life that will enable us to overcome the human nature and live through grace's sufficiency. We cannot make ourselves holy but He can. The key is we are to be trustful faith in Him rather than be trustful in faith. Holiness is our spiritual relationship with God alone. God looks into our hearts for our spiritual obedience rather than outward works. When it come down to choices...remember the story about the rich ruler? Jesus looked after the rich young ruler as he walked away, but Jesus did not follow him or attempt to coerce him. Jesus wants us make our own choices; and Christ knew this and permitted rich ruler to go his own chosen way. Jesus is saying that He cannot do our repenting for us. He died for our sins, now it is up to us to pick up the cross. If we think of it as consisting merely in someone teachings about "works" that are contradictory, we will miss Jesus' main point. Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Of course, works by "measure of Faith" is another topic of "works". The measure of faith by some is defined how successful you are spiritually. I truly don't believe that God determine (measure) our faith based on our own works. We need to guard our spiritual motives carefully and walk in Spirit. People are forgetting that faith is not the only issue that God is looking for. God is looking for holiness. The heart is where God meets us because that is where we make our decisions.

Hebrews 9:15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:36 Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. John 12:25 The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. John 12:50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say." John 17:2 "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: "We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. Acts 13:48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed. Romans 2:7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. Romans 5:21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Galatians 6:8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Titus 1:2 a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, Titus 3:7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 1 John 1:2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Noticed how many times "Eternal Life" appeared?

Eternal and Temporal: More

For it pleased the Father... by him to reconcile all things unto himself... whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. — Colossians 2:19-20 It is sin that caused us to be seperated from God. We must let our faith rest on the character of God because He will reconcile all things unto Himself, whether they be things in earth or in heaven. The Bible makes it plain that in "that day", we all will acclaim Him "victor". Human reasonings refuses to recognize God's sovereignty or His plan for His redeemed people. We love him, because he first loved us. — 1 John 4:19 and that He wanted to redeem us from sin. Redeemed Christian is to be even above the angels in the heavens and that a Christian is enter into God's presence pardoned and unashamed. That's healing. When God plants eternal life into a Christian through Grace, a Christian becomes a member of a new and higher order of being. We have an eternal future. Our bodies are decaying and God gave us His promise of eternal life. Temporal healing is not part of that promise because eternal and temporal are two separate issues.

Doctrine of Christian Faith

People simply misunderstood the doctrine of Christian faith and there have been a great deal of discussion taking place about "the lack of faith" in the past year. Just because of not widely accepted doctrine that included physcial healing as part of temporal atonement. Just because of that arguement, people will give a person who is unhealed an unanswerable response. This is like Job sitting listening to his friends regarding his situations mentioned in the Book of Job. No matter how ridiculous and unscriptural it may be, no matter how these critical Christians who will not without question accept the opposite doctrine. They are missing the nature of true Christian faith, for true Christianity is inward, and what is wrong cannot be reached by these external means. Faith is not measured as in superior Christians. Faith is also not a virtue attainable by a limited few but rather freely given by the Holy Spirit. Faith is not the ability to persuade ourselves that we desire will happen if we only wish hard enough. The bottom line, Faith is simply bringing Christians' minds into accord with the truth. The Word of God and Faith in God. The Christian of faith walks in confidence in God. God desires and loves to be trusted by His creatures. Faith is not optimism because it breeds false hope. An ill-founded optimism to me is extremely harmful within the Christian community. I believe a Christian should not be either pessimistic or optimistic. If a Christian thinks of their future that caused them to fall back on unreasoning hope. This blind optimism will make a Christian waste their time and energy on what they felt they should get because spiritual Christian is to focus on their time and energy on what God wants us to do. Faith is confidence in God's self-revelation of Himself in the Scriptures. We to set our minds on things above. By A.W. Tozer: Quote
Faith is subjective, but it is sound only when it corresponds with objective reality. The man's faith in the mountain is valid only because the mountain is there; otherwise it would be mere imagination and would need to be sharply corrected to rescue the man from harmful delusion. So God is what He is in Himself. He does not become what we believe. "I AM That I AM." We are on safe ground only when we know what kind of God He is and adjust our entire being to the holy concept.

Sound Doctrine of God

Sound doctrine does not go against ALL Characters of God. The Bible teaches that God is love; some have interpreted this in such a way as virtually to deny that He is just, which the Bible also teaches. The biblical doctrine of God's goodness so far that it is made to contradict His holiness. The biblical doctrine of God's compassion cancel out His truth. People will view God is ALL good, which is true but the definition of "good" in God's point of view is different than our human point of view. 1 Corinthians 9:8 Do I say this merely from a human point of view? 1 John 4:5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. Philippians 3:15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. If God is ALL good, then Solomon would not write the negative side of God in Ecclesiastes. From God's point of view. I arrived naked from the womb of my mother; I will leave in the same condition--with nothing. There's a right time and way for everything. He knows my current state and my tomorrows, if I have one. "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24).
