Learned of sowing and reaping

We have learned in Spirit when the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts whatever habits we have. Its the Holy Spirit's job to convict rather than the Law. I have sowed my thoughts and reaped my actions; I have sowed my actions and reaped my habits; I have sowed my habits and reaped my character; I have sowed my character, and God leads me to my destiny according to His will and glory. No matter what I do, God is always guiding me through my circumstances. Nothing is impossible for Him.

Are we teachable?

Not until we have become humble and teachable, standing in awe of God's holiness and sovereignty... acknowledging our own littleness, distrusting our own thoughts, and willing to have our minds turned upside down, can divine wisdom become ours. James I (J. I.) Packer Often sin in a Christian's life ignores the Holy Spirit that he/she is not willing to acknowledge the conviction. That's the trouble with Christians when they tend to focus on superficial desires rather than their HEARTS to change by the Holy Spirit. Wisdom by definition means quality of being wise; power of judging rightly and following the soundest course of action, based on knowledge, experience and understanding. In 1 Peter 1: 13 - 16 We are to present our bodies "as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. Truth is, the Holy Spirit is able to grasp our inner being only when we submit completely which will allow Him to teach us, lead us mysterious and divine where we ought to go. Remember, since God is love, therefore, we must surrender to love or we can never know the truth of God. "Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name." — Psalm 86:11

Pastor's education level..................

One of my favorite preachers and writer of all times is A.W. Tozer. A. W. Tozer's conversion to Christ at seventeen. As a result he gained an insatiable hunger and thirst for the things of God and became a great pastor of his time. Tozer had not attended Bible college or seminary, Tozer received two honorary doctorates. Another person, my mentor, my good friend, my pastor who died of cancer September 10, 1999 at very young age didn't have college education. He was trained by a very respected spiritual local Church which was like a seminary. He was remembered by many that he loved his God, loved his family, and loved his people (Deaf people). His life verse was Jude 1:22, "And of some, having compassion, making a difference." Only eternity will tell how God has used his life and death to influence many Deaf and hearing people here and around the world. For 3 years, Jesus taught His Disciples who became Apostles after His death. What kind of education did Jesus gave them? Reading all of the New Testament, I have come to conclusion that Jesus taught them Spiritual matters. Teachers are to have good reputation. In the book of Titus, the requirements are: Show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose they may be ashamed because those have nothing bad to say about them. That teachers are to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. In 2 Corinthians 7:2 says that we "make room for others in our hearts. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one." This is where "accountability" comes in. In 1 Timothy 3:1-3: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. AT THE SAME TIME, going to a seminary benefits more by helping a person serving God better. The only Apostle that didn't follow Jesus was Paul however, Paul did have extensive education background regarding Jewish Laws that were very useful for God to use Paul when He wrote the letters of the New Testament. Through Paul's letters, we have learned GREAT doctrines who was very educated and at the same time very spiritual. I do have some concerns with some who are "professed preachers" in this world. Those who claim to follow and teach the "Word" MAY NOT be following the Word. This is where we are to understand what the Bible says about discerning and how teachers should behave and teach. I have the most respected preachers who tells their listeners how Christians are to test the spirits including their own teachings. When I retire, one of my goals is to attend a seminary if God is willing.

Studying the Bible

Are we studying the Bible for ourselves or for us to preach to others? Are supposed to read the Bible so we can bserving God's Word? Is our personal Bible study a daily discipline for our own spiritual growth or for others when we preach on them? The main purpose for reading the Bible is to change ourselves as we read, believe and obey. The WORD is Jesus Christ. God's Word (the Bible) sometimes wounds us deeply and it is imperative because through the Bible, God speaks loudly. The Word of God (Bible) rebukes US we we read so that we may see our OWN faults (not others). The Bible illumines the dark corners of our own hearts and minds by exposing our OWN sin but at the same time reveals the way of rightousness. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

We were bought with a price.........

We were bought at a price that we are to honor God (see 1 Corinthians 6:20). God will not lead us unless He is able to use us for His own glory. God cannot lead stubborn and selfish Christians who are trying to use God for their own spiritual & personal agendas. When placing claims or labeling, there is a danger of idolatry. The seduction of idolatry have been very strong and very successful since the days of the Old Testament books. If I am seeking God for my own selfishness (self-interest) other than my personal salvation with Jesus Christ is a form of idolatry. I need to guard myself and be on the watch against any object of worship that belongs only to God.

Heart and Pride

Our hearts (core) are seated deep within our minds where they pollutes our emotions (desires), the intellect (imaginations) and the will (purposes). It is important to understand that our hearts are the state of our "flesh". Our flesh search for pleasure, pride, passions and selfish motives. Our hearts are like a garden with beautiful flowers and plants. As with all gardens, the hearts must be kept free from weeds and insects. In Proverbs 4:23, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do." (NLT). When you step beyond the Word of God, you’ve overstepped the bounds of your authority. God reveals Himself primarily through the pages of Scriptures; that is why I believe the Bible as my absolute authority. 1 Peter 4:11 instructs me to handle biblical truth: "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God." As divinely revealed truth, it carries the full weight of God's own authority. Love is not boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. True faith is not the ability to superiorize unseen things to the satisfaction of our human minds, instead it is the human power to trust Christ completely. Following Christ is costly in many ways. The greatest cost of all is to the old nature, ego, self. To be like Christ is to be a Christian. -- Daniel Webster "Moses spent 40 years thinking he was somebody; 40 years learning he was nobody; and 40 years discovering what God can do with a nobody."
