Forgiveness Quotes

The degree to which I am able and willing to forgive others is a clear indication of the extent to which I have personally experienced God my Father’s forgiveness for me. The corollary to this is that anyone who is not willing to forgive another has certainly not known God’s loving forgiveness. Philipp Keller Whenever I see myself before God and realize something of what my blessed Lord has done for me at Calvary, I am ready to forgive anybody anything. I cannot withhold it. I do not even want to withhold it. Martin Lloyd-Jones The best testimony that Stephen bore was his last: not when preaching and working miracles, but when he pleaded for his persecutors; for then he most resembled the Lord Jesus in patience, forgiveness and love. Robert C. Chapman The wisdom of God has ordained a way for the love of God to deliver us from the wrath of God without compromising the justice of God. John Piper God has cast our confessed sins into the depths of the sea, and He's even put a "no fishing" sign over the spot. Dwight L. Moody When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles. When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy. Corrie ten Boom

By A.W. Tozer about Christian Unity and Forgiveness

Inward Friction But there is another kind of friction which retards spiritual progress and does real injury to the soul. It is the friction created by inward maladjustment. Our Lord had this in mind when He spoke of the value of the "single eye," and James referred to the same thing when he told of the wavering man of double mind who was unstable in all his ways. While the heart is at cross-purposes with itself, there can be no inward harmony, only discord and carnal heat that slowly wear out the life. One source of friction is resentfulness. To hold bad feeling against another is to put the brakes on; no matter how sincerely we desire to go on in the holy way, we are held back by the grinding of resentment within us. Morally resentment is static and will brake to a stop any soul that will harbor it. It is vitally important to remove the pressure that is checking forward motion. This we can do by forgiving our enemies and taking pardon and cleansing from the Lord. To name all the possible causes of inward friction would be to list the works of the flesh in their entirety. The flesh warreth against the spirit: that is, it seeks to stop the motions of the growing heart and bring it to a standstill. Or, failing that, it will put as much pressure as possible on the life and slow its progress as much as it can. The sad thing is that so many of us seem willing to let things go on that way. We "grovel here below," creeping forward painfully and at a snail's pace, when we might be racing unhindered toward the prize. Let's check up on ourselves. Possibly we may need to take the brakes off.

Guaranteed Reconciliation by A.W. Tozer

That contract into which God has entered guarantees reconciliation. We are reconciled to God! God's gracious new will—His contract—guarantees pardon. We may be restored into the household of God by faith.

Extreme

If you look back that Jesus rebuked religious leaders who had extreme doctrines that intimindated others who don't follow their rules. Reading Paul's letters, he had his issues with extremists of his day. He rebuked many of the churches for being too extreme in some doctrines. Not everyone are to be treated the same. Everyone is different. Some may consider one extreme and the other is not while another person is the opposite. If we look in Ephesians 6:15, we are to wear the Gospel of Peace so that we will always be fully prepared to witness. Faith is to let God do His work in His way in His time and will use US as He desires. Faith is not to manipulate and intimidate people we are trying to witness to because it is the Holy Spirit's job to convict people's heart. We are not to persuade people to follow certain extremist views of doctrines because only God can take care of that based on each individual as the Holy Spirit convicts their hearts. The Holy Spirit KNOWS every person better than we do so just let the Holy Spirit do His work. If we read 1 Corinthians 12, Paul explains that there are different kinds of Spiritual gifts and not everyone will be treated the same. God will work different ways in each of our lives because He knows EACH of us personally simply because He created us. God expects every believer not to be extreme in their area of spiritual gifts but rather, God expects every believer be part of ONE spiritual body. Extremists will often ignore some parts that are least important to them when it is the most necessary in the eyes of God. Extremists will ignore the most necessary that God desires and break God's spiritual harmony. Gospel of Peace is to watch for God's moment and go with the Spirit fully prepared to witness like you care and love as Christ love them.

More about Forgiveness

There have been people looking for any scriptures that says we CAN unforgive people. We are to forgive even when a person is unwilling to repent. Relationship restoration requires repentance to God FIRST and come to the offending person for the restoration. Forgiveness have already completed, now the both parties are to focus on restoration. It takes same two people to restore a relationship of two people. Not one. Just as God forgave us. But in order to restore our relationship with God from eternal death, we are to repent and acknowledge God and Jesus so that we can have eternal life. God ALREADY FORGAVE..... now He is WAITING for those to REPENT so that the relationship can be RESTORED between two people. God and the Believer. If one is unwilling to repent is the same person who refused to acknowledge and decided to be bitter against a person.
